THANK YOU

(from Dave as dictated by him to his sister the summer of 2003)

I just feel I need to thank everyone.  I've had a good life but only because of all those who have been a part of it.

I was blessed with four great kids and several grandchildren.  I'm very proud of all of you and happy that you were all a part of my life.

I was fortunate to have been raised in a great family with wonderful parents - the greatest parents in the world.  I also had the best brother and sister a boy could ever ask for.  I have felt a real void in my life all these years at the loss of Doug.  I've missed him terribly and will be happy to once again be reunited with him.

To all the great people I grew up with:  Jerry and Sis, Gordy Peterson, Jerry Jacobson, Dick Nelson and Bill Landis to mention a few.  It was a great childhood, a great neighborhood, a great place to grow up.  Thank you for your friendships.

To the Murray Class of '59.  You were the best!  Great fun!  Great times!

I especially want to thank all the wonderful people in Hastings who readily befriended an outsider who moved into their town some 20 years ago.  To Barb, my landlady for 11 years: Thanks for "taking a chance" with a male boarder.  We did well together!  To all the coaches and athletes, the Hastings Hawks baseball team, the McKenzies, and my best friend, Al Altendorfer and his wife, Dorothy and to Ed and Marilyn Revenes for all being the best of friends.  To Erica McKenzie, I'll be watching your career from the Big Hockey Rink in the sky.  To Linda Larson and her daughter, thank you for the memories.  To Jennifer and Dan and family from Bellwood Golf Course, the greatest job I ever had and the best people I ever worked for.

To all my friends at Tastee Bakery and the Hastings Bus Company - thanks for the memories.

Well George, you're finally the end of the household, the king pin - anointed by me. You're the only one I can trust to carry on.
